Lillie's 2 months old!

Lillie says "Look how big I am!"  On January 27th, Lillie turned 2 months old.  She weighs 9 pounds 9 ounces and is 21 1/4 inches long.  She probably has about another week or two in her newborn clothes.  Clothes that have feet, like sleepers, are already a tad bit short so she'll be out of those a little sooner.

Things we have learned:
  • Lillie has added sheep to the list of barn yard animal sounds she knows.  So far she knows how to make the horse sound, the duck sound, and now the lamb sound.
  • Our girl is tough as nails.  She only cries for about 10 seconds when she has to get a shot.
  • Listening to music during night feedings is a must.  If I don't have my ipod ready, feeding Lillie in the middle of the night can be very frustrating to this sleepy mama.  But if I have music to listen to, it keeps me from being grumpy.
  • If Justin hears Lillie cry in the middle of the night, he'll soothe her even in his sleep.  I've walked into our room many times to find Justin asleep patting his chest as if Lillie is resting on it.  And one time he had my Balloo bear cradled in his arms!  Ha ha!

Lillie's Accomplishments:
  • We used to have to let Lillie sleep on our chest if we wanted to get any kind of sleep. That girl had her days and night mixed up so bad! But now she sleeps in her crib all by herself like a big girl!
  • She gets stronger every day.  She is really starting to strengthen those neck muscles and will be holding up it before too long.
  • She's not really cooing much, but one day I caught her talking to the animals that hang down from her bouncy chair.  She was staring at Mr. Giraffe and telling him all about her day, I'm sure.

It's February already and I have to go back to work this month :-(  I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do it, but I know I have to and will.  We found a nice lady to keep Lillie who lives in the subdivision next door.  She only keeps up to 6 kids at a time and seems very down to earth and relaxed.  Justin and I are both optimistic that we'll really like her and that Lillie can stay with her for a good while.

Until next time!
