"Meet me in St. Lou-is, Lou-is"

This past weekend, Justin, my sister Casie, and I drove up to St. Louis to see The Judds.  St. Louis was the closest city to Dallas that their tour was making a stop in and this was the Last Encore Tour, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go! We have all loved The Judds since we were kids.  We took advantage of the city and stayed downtown at the Millineum Hotel.  It was within walking distance of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse where the Dred Scott case was tried.  We had so much fun!

We drove to Joplin Friday night.  It was a 6 hour drive!  We were so glad to finally be in Missouri.  From Jopliln, we drove on to St. Louis Saturday.  Part of the drive was on the famous Route 66!

We made a pit stop Saturday morning and took our pictures with this GIANT chicken.  For the first time in my life, I saw a truck with a snow plow on the front as we were leaving the parking lot.  Brr!  It was cold!

We drove into the city as it was getting dark.  The Gateway Arch was HUGE and amazing!

This was the view from our hotel...so pretty!

We didn't have long before we had to make the drive to the Family Arena in St. Charles.  It was concert time!

The concert was amazing and our seats were great!

They played for 2 1/2 hours.  The Judd's played their most popular songs, Wynonna had a segment all on her own where she sang her favorites, and they sang a few Christmas songs with the Palmetto State Quartet.

One of my favorite songs!

 Casie really enjoyed the concert.

Sunday morning, we woke up early so that we could fit in some tourist attractions!  Our first stop, the Old Courthouse at the Jeffereson National  Expansion Memorial.

It was a beautiful courthouse.  The pictures don't do it justice!

This was the courtroom that Dred Scott fought for his freedom.

Some of the Scott's belongings.

You could see the Arch across the street from the courthouse.

We even got to touch it!

Up away we go on the Gateway Arch Tram!   We fit 2 more people in with us in this tiny little pod!

We went all the way to the top...630 feet high!

After riding to the top, we stopped off at the Western Expansion Museum before heading home.  This was just a weekend road trip to see The Judds, but we packed in as much as we could and took advantage of what St. Louis had to offer!
